"The Great Commission is not an option to be considered;
it is a command to be obeyed"
-- Hudson Taylor
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." -- Matthew 28:19-20

Every four seconds, somewhere in the world, another person indicates a decision to follow Christ after viewing the "JESUS" film. Since 1993, Charlie Luke has been taking trips to Cuba and showing this film where he has seen many people give their life to Christ.

Life Church made it possible for Brian Sudduth and Faith Luke to go to Kenya in September 2007. Brian is an architect and he was able to draw plans for an orphanage which has since been completed. They were also able to go to the slums of Kenya and minister in the homes of people dying of AIDS, as well as offering free medical clinics to the people. Without the prayers and financial support of Life Church, this trip would not have been possible.

On June 18, 11 missionaries from Life Church will be travelling with Crosspoint Ministries (www.crosspointmissions.org) to Peru. There are over 8 million people in Lima, Peru. The area of Lima we will be in is called San Juan de Lurigancho, where almost two million people live; most of whom eat only one meal a day. They are among the poorest of the poor. Many of the women and young girls are verbally, physically and sexually abused by family members, the very people who are suppose to protect them. While there, we will specifically work with an orphanage, a battered women's shelter and a teen boy's home. Through dramas and dances we will be able to go out on the street and show homeless young people the love of God! At night we will hold services to proclaim the Good News of the Gospel! Our goal is to share the love of Jesus Christ by being his hands, feet and mouth piece to these poor and hurting people. For more information visit: www.griffinphillip.com/peru
Also, Faith Luke, Alana Lusted & Brandon Carter had the opportunity to travel to Lima, Peru in June 2008. The team ministered through drama, medical clinics, conferences, visiting orphanages, feeding the homeless and more. There was a special night where a select few were invited to the most dangerous part of Lima to minister to the “Piranha Boys.”
The Piranha Boys are the street kids of Lima. As young as 5 years old, these kids live in hallowed out holes in a dried-up riverbed. Sniffing glue has become the norm; it helps them stay warm and drives away hunger. They number in the thousands and if you wander into their territory alone they swarm you, taking everything you have...giving them their name...the Piranha Boys.
This is the story of that evening. We went there hoping to make a difference, change a life. Hopefully we did, but the lives that changed the most were our own. Staring into the depths of hell leaves a lasting effect on you...
